The opportunity

Grow enquiries by fixing conversion first

Precision already attracts the right homeowners. The biggest return is converting more of them and winning larger projects, not buying more traffic.

£80–300k
Typical Precision project, renovation to design-and-build
~£12,000
Expected revenue behind one genuine enquiry
10–15%
Genuine enquiry to booked work

A small gain in conversion is worth far more than a small rise in traffic.

The diagnosis

Where enquiries leak today

1
Get found. Many near-identical town pages read as duplicates, so the key services rank low.
2
Understand the offer. Pages sell a feeling, not the cost, the process or the planning answers.
3
Trust the firm. Strong reviews and real projects, but the proof barely shows where people decide.
4
Get in touch. One general button, no phone in the header, no quick form on the service pages.
5
Be answered fast. Nothing sorts a big project from a small repair, and slow replies lose work.
I've already looked at your site

What a technical crawl found

Before this interview I crawled the live site with Screaming Frog and reviewed the key pages by hand. The findings below are real, and most are quick, low-cost fixes that sit in the first weeks of the plan.

The winners all make trust visible. Precision can match this quickly with what it already has.

Lead generation strategy

Fewer, bigger, better-fit projects

The ideal client

  • Homeowners planning a larger renovation, extension or design-and-build
  • Period and family homes in Cotswolds, Burford, Cheltenham, Stroud
  • Larger budgets, longer horizon, decision over 6–12 months

Not the focus

  • Small one-off repairs and odd jobs
  • Lowest-price shoppers
  • Work outside the team's strongest, most profitable projects

1. Local specialists for larger projects

Not a jack-of-all-trades. Renovations, extensions and design-and-build.

2. Proof you can see

Real projects, reviews, accreditations and video, not just claims.

3. One team for the whole home

Builders, Green Energy and Home Interiors, from extension to finished home.

4. A clear, calm process

From first call to handover. This removes the main fear of building work.

First 90 days

Quick wins first, then the edge

Week 1

Stop the bleeding

  • Same-day reply rule for every enquiry
  • Claim and tidy the Google Business Profile
  • Fix the 404 links and broken email link
  • Phone and click-to-call in the header
  • Fix the typo and lower-case town names

Outcome: fewer lost enquiries, almost no cost.

Weeks 2–6

Findability & trust

  • Rebuild focused local pages, prune duplicates
  • Add structured data, tidy the sitemap
  • Surface reviews and before-and-after photos
  • Add the qualifying form and clear CTAs

Outcome: better rankings, warmer enquiries.

Months 2–3

Build the edge

  • Testimonial and project-walkthrough video
  • Accreditations, image and speed fixes
  • Portfolio reworked into case studies
  • Light founder and social cadence

Outcome: a site that stands apart and compounds.

Foundations & resources

Start lean, scale what works

Already in place

  • GoHighLevel CRM to capture and route enquiries
  • GA4 and Search Console for measurement
  • WP Rocket cache installed, needs configuring
  • A real portfolio and strong reviews

What I'd add

  • A modest paid budget, started small and scaled on results
  • A freelancer for technical site fixes
  • Light help with video editing

Team time is the cheapest asset. Fifteen to twenty minutes after each job for photos and a review.

Lead generation & quality

Sort the serious projects at the point of enquiry

A short qualifying form asks

  • Project type and rough scope
  • Location and property type
  • Rough budget and planning status
  • Start date, with a photo or drawing upload

Clear calls to action

  • Request an extension estimate
  • Book a renovation consultation
  • Discuss your design-and-build project

Quality over quantity. The form filters for larger projects, and a same-day reply wins far more work than a slow one.

Marketing channels

Prioritised by intent and value

Capture ready buyers

  • SEO and strong local pages
  • Google Business Profile, often the first call, under-used today
  • Google Ads on high-intent searches

Build trust & demand

  • Social: Instagram, Facebook
  • Email nurture for warm enquiries
  • Referrals after every finished job

The longer game

  • Architects and interior designers
  • Estate agents and planning consultants
  • Suppliers (windows, kitchens)

Google Business Profile is a near-term priority. It's often the first call for a local builder, and right now reviews are scattered across sites rather than gathered on Google. I'd claim it, add project photos and posts, and point review requests there.

Paid search & keywords

The click is cheap, the decision is long

Extension clicks cost less than painting or roofing, but convert lowest (around 2.6%), because the decision takes months. So I split keywords by intent.

Paid search, ready to hire

extension builder [town]renovation contractor Cotswoldsloft conversion [town]

SEO and content, researching

house extension costdo I need planning permissionsingle vs double storey

Remarketing brings researchers back. I measure cost per won project, not cost per click.

Email nurture

Staying useful through a long decision

Most enquirers will not be ready for months. Email keeps Precision present and trusted, so when they are ready, we are the obvious call.

Two simple flows

  • New enquiry: an educational sequence over the weeks while they decide
  • Re-activation: wake up older enquiries with a fresh case study
  • Segmented by project type

Useful emails we'd send

  • What to expect, with a clear process and timeline
  • Planning permission, made simple
  • What an extension really costs, honestly
  • A case study close to their own project

Runs on GoHighLevel, already in place. Only to people who enquired and opted in. The owned-channel version of remarketing.

Return on investment

Move the sliders, see the maths

Drag any input. The numbers update live. This is how I'd think about budget: not the cost of a click, but the cost of a won project.

Content & brand awareness

Content that builds trust and reach

Case studies

Brief, work and result for real local projects.

Before & after

Photo sliders of completed extensions and renovations.

Testimonials

Customer stories in text and short video.

Educational

Planning permission, process, what to expect.

Behind the scenes

Site progress and the founders' own voice.

Video

Project walkthroughs and customer testimonials.

Video content

Video builds trust the fastest

For a builder, seeing the finished work and hearing real customers does more than any words. Video is the strongest trust asset we have, and I produce it myself.

Video that earns enquiries

  • Customer testimonials, the most persuasive asset of all
  • Before-and-after reveals and project walkthroughs
  • Meet the team and founders, the calm-process message
  • Simple stage-by-stage process explainers
  • Short social reels, time-lapses and site progress

Produced in-house, my edge

  • Filmed on site and edited by me
  • No agency fees and a fast turnaround
  • Authentic and local, not staged stock
  • Start on a phone, then scale what performs

Around four in five people say a video testimonial makes them more likely to choose a firm (Wyzowl). It works hardest on the pages and ads where people decide.

The differentiator

One team for the whole home

Three sister companies already cover the full journey: build it, power it, finish it. The advantage is real, and no local rival can match it.

Build it

Precision Builders

Extensions, renovations and design-and-build.

Power it

Precision Green Energy

Heating, electrics, solar and renewables.

Finish it

Precision Home Interiors

Kitchens, bathrooms and interior finishing.

"Heard about them through Precision Builders, who did my extension. They helped me install a new boiler."
Real customer review, Precision Green Energy

This cross-referral already happens by word of mouth. My job is to make it intentional: one trusted team for your whole home, not three things to buy.

In short

More enquiries, and better ones, measured in pounds

  • Fix conversion first, then grow demand
  • Prioritise channels by intent and value
  • Attract larger, better-fit projects and reply fast
  • Report cost per won project, not clicks or likes

The differentiator

One team for the whole home, from building to energy to interiors. No local rival can match it.

Let's do this together

Ready for the new season, in 8 months not 12

Extensions are planned over autumn and winter, then built from spring. The work is won months before the first brick. So the time to be ready is before the next planning wave.

Now

Switch the marketing on. Quick wins first, almost no cost.

Autumn & winter

Capture the homeowners planning next year's extension.

Spring

Booked up and building, ready for the new season.

Let's build it together.
